NEW RELEASE! BORDERLINES BY L. E. FITZPATRICK

Synopsis
When the perfect job comes up, Charlie doesn't think twice about taking it. This is the break he's been looking for and nobody, not even the rest of his team, can persuade him otherwise.
The job means working for an old enemy and crossing the border into London. Both are risky, but Charlie has no idea how high the stakes really are. The team will have to confront their past, each other and a killer who is closer than they realize. But can they all make it out of the city alive?
"We all remember that kid in Piccadilly. That determined look he had on his face as he willed all those people to him. Just using his mind, he pulled them close then blew them all to pieces. It could be anyone. Your neighbour, your friend, your lover. Remain vigilant. Reachers are everywhere."
Border Lines is the second book in L.E. Fitzpatrick's Reachers series.

Start with Book One, The Running Game
Rachel’s father called it the running game. Count the exits, calculate the routes, and always be ready to run.

On the surface, Rachel is just an ordinary doctor, but she has a secret. Rachel is a Reacher, wanted by the government and the criminal underworld for her telekinetic powers.

Charlie and his brother John have a reputation for doing the impossible. But after losing his family, Charlie is a broken mess and John is barely keeping him afloat. In desperation, they take a job from a ruthless crime lord, only to discover the girl they are hunting is a Reacher... one of their own kind.

With the help of dangerous and dubious allies, can Rachel turn the game around and save herself?

About the author
L E Fitzpatrick was born in Hull, East Yorkshire, but now lives in West Wales, with her family plus lots of dogs and cats. She manages an office, volunteers as a room steward for the National Trust and also supports independent authors as a proofreader and beta reader. She obviously has no spare time because of this, but if she did it would probably be invested in walking in the countryside and enjoying the peace and quiet.
L E Fitzpatrick published her first series Dark Waters in 2011 and is currently working on her Reacher series.

Pity, the new governess has no idea what is waiting for her at Blackstone House.

"Unimaginable horror awaits you in The House on Blackstone Moor...

Rose Baines' journey into the dark begins with the murders of her family by her insane, incestuous father. Evil has found a way in, as has the world of the undead. Will she become one of them?

The horrific discovery causes her to be incarcerated in two madhouses. Doctor Bannion, superintendent of Marsh Asylum, helps his favorite patient obtain a position as governess at Blackstone House, but why is he so adamant? The house, her charges tell her, is built on haunted moorland. Nothing is as it seems for Blackstone House, and its inhabitants have hideous secrets; the greatest secret of all is that of the blood.

Amid the unimaginable horror there is love - which comes at a terrible price. The House on Blackstone Moor is the first novel in Carole Gill's Blackstone Vampires Series. It is an epic tale of the eternal struggle of good vs. evil, and a story of love that strives to prevail, despite all odds.

The House on Blackstone Moor is a sure pick for fans of gothic horror novels and darkest vampire romance."

GHOST STORIES AT CHRISTMAS, A BRITISH TRADITION

Did you know the practice of gathering around the fire on Christmas Eve to tell ghost stories was as much a part of Christmas for the Victorian British as Santa Claus is is for many of us? Well truly, it is! And it’s no surprise that the great Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol is the most famous ghost story of all (and with a Christmas theme and great morality play)!

It’s a good balance to all the festivities, the present-giving and overindulging we tend to do, to then sit back and read or watch a good old ghost story–something to blow away the cobwebs, to clear our heads a little. A good scare always works! It wakes us up and gets us focused! And what a treasure trove of ghastly tales there are! Have your pick from MR James to Henry James or something contemporary!

The tradition still exists although some say it is nearly forgotten. Well, it isn’t with me! I read The Woman in Black in one sitting! My hand shook when I turned the pages, some of the scares were just too much! Yes, I get scared too, believe me.

Wherever you live, if you are any sort of fan of horror and the supernatural, please read or watch something scary this holiday season! There are so many good tales to choose from. Some of my recommendations are:

The Woman in Black – Susan Hill
Seven Collected Stories by MR James
The Turn of the Screw – Henry James / The Innocents (film)
The Haunting of Hill House – Shirley Jackson/film: The Haunting
Ghost Story – Peter Straub (film of the same name)

Come on! Whatever your taste, go on! Get something you know will scare you, curl up with a book or watch something. Let yourself be embraced by the dark. Spook yourself out!

Okay? Good! Have a great Christmas, too! and BOO!
